About dongzhi:


 


According to the Chinese lunar calendar, there are 24 solar terms in a year. After lidong


     comes dongzhi.


 


The winter solstice usually comes around the 22nd or w3rd of December.


 


On dongzhi, the night is the longest one of the year.


 


The Chinese think dongzhi is as important as Lunar New Year.


 


People will eat tangyuan which are made of sticky rice and have either a sesame


      or peanut filling.


 


After you eat tangyuan, Chinese people say  you will grow one year older.
